Sillar Rock Quarries

We will visit the immense quarries where
Arequipa gets their sillar from (white
volcanic rock). The sillar is then used for
ornaments on the colonial era constructions;

For this excursion, you have the option of
seeing some endangered animals like the
Vicuña, Huanaco, Taruca, Queñoa, Yaretas and
others. You will also be able to see and
appreciate the many snow covered summits in
the surrounding area. There are also lots of
different varieties of birds to be seen,
amongst which, 3 different species of
flamingoes. |
