The Inca Trail, with Machupicchu as the final
destination, is the most popular and well known tour
amongst tourists. The entire trek is approximately 43
kilometres and takes 4 days, including a day trip to the
Machupicchu Archaeological Group. The surrounding nature
is truly breathtaking. With impressive views of
snow-capped mountains along the way, the walk through
the jungle in the midst of such amazing archaeological
remains makes for an unforgettable experience.
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Cusco - Km 82 - Huayllabamba (+ / - 6 hours
trekking)
At approximately 5:30 am, we will pick you up from your
hotel and go by bus to mile 82. After passing the
control point, we start the walk alongside the Urubamba
River until we reach the important archaeological ruins
of Llactapata, where we will have our lunch. Continuing
on, we will trek for approximately 6 hours (a total of
13 kilometres) until we reach our first campsite in
Huayllabamba.

Day 2: Huayllabamba - Pacaymayu (+ / - 6 to 7 hours
walking)
The biggest challenge: 21 kilometres of climbing to
traverse 2 high passes, including Warmiwañusca, with
its' 4200 m. That is the highest point of the hike,
which we will come to with difficulty breathing being
surprised by the stunning panoramic views of the
surrounding mountains and glaciers, and the beautiful
semi-tropical valley beneath us. The hike includes views
of the archaeological sites of Runkurakay and
Sayacmarca. We will camp in Pacaymayu.

Day 3: Pacaymayu - Wiñaywayna (+ / - 7 to 8 hours
walking)
This is a quiet day but, with just 10 kilometres of
hiking on a mostly flat route with many downhill slopes.
We will observe how the geography changes before our
eyes, from dry and mountainous to semi-tropical and
green (in the area known as the "eyebrow of the
jungle"). During the walk, we will visit the
archaeological sites of Phuyupatamarca and Intipata,
eventually coming to our final campsite of the hike at
Wiñaywayna.

Day 4: Wiñaywayna - Machupicchu - Cusco
After very early breakfast we will depart towards Inti
Punku (the Sun Gate), the entrance to the ancient Incan
city, Machupicchu. From this point is an unforgettable
experience; after descending down the final slope to the
magical ruins, we will have a guided tour of the site
for approximately 2 hours. In the afternoon, you will
take the train back to Cusco, arriving around 20:30 hrs,
where we'll then transfer you back to your hotel.

Note:
It is necessary to bring the passport, with which you
made the reservation, to Cusco with you, even if that
means bringing an old, invalid passport. We should

gather whatever evidence of the change that you can.
