The Misti, which stands over Arequipa, is a semi
active volcano with an altitude of 5,822 meters. It
is located exactly 17 kilometers from the center
square of the city. It is formed with a cone shaped
base by a cone shaped base, which is called the
“dress “of the mountain. It is covered by a thin
film of volcanic ash on top of everything.

DAY 01:
08:30 hrs –Pick up from your hotel at the
coordinated hour. We will try to have an early
departure from Arequipa at an early hour, to take a
route right up the front face of the large mountain.
10:00 hrs – We will start the trek from the altitude
of 1,300 meters after taking a brief break to adapt
ourselves to the chance of altitude. Today we will
be walking for about 6 hours before we arrive to our
camping spot.
15:00 hrs – We will arrive to our base camp, which
is known as the Eagles Nest, which stands at a
height of 4,610 meters. From that great vantage
point, we will enjoy some amazing views of the city
and valley below us. In the night we will get some
nice night time shots of the city.
Dinner and rest at the campsites.
DAY 02:
3:00 hrs - Extremely early in the morning, we will
start the day with a warm tea to get us going. We
will begin the days’ ascent of 6 hours.
09:00 hrs - We will finally arrive to the crest of
the mountain around mid morning. The crest is at an
immense altitude of 5,825 meters, so we will get
some truly spectacular views of the Volcano Mountain
Range all around us. After resting for a bit, we
will want to get back on our way, returning by the
huge crater at the peak to have a good look at the
inverted dome at the top. We will also have our
breakfast for the day at the top.
09:30 hrs – We will begin descending to our campsite
again. It will be a long 4-5 hour trek to arrive
back to our transportation, which will bring us back
to the city.
14:00 hrs – Arrival to the city.
