Climbing Misti Volcano
Misti is a semi-active volcano rising to 5,822 meters above sea level and located 17 kilometers from Arequipa. It is conical in shape and formed by repeated volcanic eruptions.

Route: Agua Blana – Grau
Day 1:
Pick up at hotel at 8:30 am.
Begin climb at 10:00 am, acending 1300 meters in about 6 hours.
Arrive at the base camp Nido de Aguilas , 4,610 meters, at about 3:00 p.m. From here you can see Arequipa and the surrounding areas.
Dinner and camping.
Day 2:
At 3:00 a.m. enjoy some coca tee and begin climbing 1,225 meters in about six hours.
Arrive at the summit at about 9:00 a.m. and see the spectacular volcanic mountain range of southern Peru. See the iron cross at the summit then return in the direction of the crater where you can see the volcanic dome and steam jets.
At 9:30 a.m. return to the base camp and hike down to meet the bus that will take you back to Arequipa.
Arrive at the hotel at approximately 2:00 pm.
Includes: private transportation, guide, equipment for camping, first aid kit, food. Sleeping bag and porter are optional.
